WHY CHOOSE MA’S?

Macy and Abbey are the co-owners of Ma’s Estate Sales. And that’s who you will see at every sale. We take our time to sort, stage, research and organize each item. We market with the consumer in mind, by carefully curating items to entice clients to your sale. We look forward to working on both large estates and small downsizing sales.

WHAT’S YOUR COMISSION BASED ON?

We base our commission on three key factors: the potential value of the items being sold, the duration of time to prepare for the sale, and the location. These three factors help us determine the commission that works best for our company and the client.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN ESTATE SALE & A GARAGE SALE?

At a garage sale, the goal is to sell just a few items you no longer want. This usually takes place either outside your house or in your garage. An estate sale usually takes place inside and outside of the home, and the goal is to sell everything that is left behind on a property.

KEEP IT OR THROW IT AWAY?

We always recommend keeping it! You never know what customers will buy. Your best bet is to keep it.

HOW MUCH WILL THE SALE MAKE?

We do not provide an estimate of the total proceeds, as there are so many factors that relate to a sale, including condition of items, weather, location of home, parking, etc.

DO YOU PRICE EVERYTHING?

Yes, or at the very least, the best we can! We price and research everything we can, so we make sure you’re getting the most for your items.

DO YOU PRE-SALE?

Sometimes. To give us more time and a larger market, we will occasionally pre-sale larger or more valuable items. This can also give us more space within the home if needed.

IS THE FAMILY PRESENT DURING THE SALE?

We strongly encourage immediate family members NOT to attend the sale. The family is more than welcome to come before the setup or/and after the sale ends.

WILL I RECEIVE AN INVENTORY LIST?

We provide an inventory list of all individual items sold over $100 and prices for larger items (furniture, lawn mowers, etc.)

ADDITIONAL FEES?

Some unforeseen fees may be acquired, such as purchasing keys for the residence or boxes (if needed). These items would be discussed prior to purchase.

HOW DO YOU ADVERTISE?

We use text message marketing, social media, and on occasion estatesales.net. We also take time to market your sale in a unique way, by using teaser posts to get people excited and bring the most customers to your sale. One thing to keep in mind, if we’ve posted it on our social accounts, it must be at the sale. It’s not fair to our customers to remove an item that they may be coming specifically for. We don’t like bait and switch!

SHOULD I OFFER A 75% DISCOUNT?

Yes, if you’re ready to part with the items or are looking to completely clear the home. We do encourage clients to do a walk-through of the home before we reduce to 75% off to claim any items they might want to keep. You can also have individual items that are ‘firm,’ in which we won’t sell those items for less than an agreed upon price with you.

WHAT’S BAG DAY?

On occasion we will promote a ‘Bag Day’ with larger estates. This allows customers to bring a bag and fill it up for an allotted amount. This can really help with clearing the contents of the home. This is ideal for a larger estate in which the home is deemed to be sold.

WHAT IF I DECIDE TO KEEP AN ITEM?

We completely understand! Ma’s will take the commission only (what the item would have sold for) as it would have been originally a part of the sale after signing the contract.

DOES MA’S PURCHASE ITEMS?

Yes! We often purchase items from the sale for ourselves. We pay into the sale just as anyone else would!
